WHO CAN JOIN? Our Host Agency Program can only accepts U.S. Citizens or U.S. Residents living in the U.S. States and territories.
Unfortunately due to Seller of Travel laws, we cannot host agents residing in California.
AM I AN EMPLOYEE? No, you are not an employee. You are an independent contractor and a business owner. We are a travel partner and we assist in running your own business. Besides certain operating rules to maintain standards we will not interfere in the running of your business and are here to make sure that you make money.
Best yet because you are running your own business you will be eligible for business deductions on your taxes.
COMMUNICATION? We provide agents unlimited email and phone support during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 12 pm-10pm EST) and on an emergency basis on the weekends and holidays.
CAN I BOOK AIRLINE TICKETS? Yes, you can book airline tickets. However, most airlines do not pay commission anymore. Our host program works with airline consolidators that may offer commission however as an agent you are free to charge a service fee to mark up the ticket price.
COMMISSION SPLIT? Our commission split is 80% to the agent.
WHAT CAN I BOOK? The better question is what can't you book. We offer the ability to book hotels, rental cars, train tickets, airline tickets, cruises, tours, Disney World passes, and other attractions. Anything that offers travel agent’s commission. You also have the ability to book other trip components that may not offer commission that you can add a service fee to.
HOW WILL I BOOK TRIPS? There are thousands of ways to make a booking. Each supplier is different. Many times, you will book online. But there will be times where you need to call a supplier to make a booking or make corrections. Please note that commissions may be lowered for booking over the phone. Some suppliers do not offer online booking or you just need to speak to a human being for more complicated bookings. We don’t have one single website where you can book everything because there is no such thing. Any agency that tells you there is a computer system that allows you to make bookings with all suppliers, is not offering all the options for booking. There are 1000’s of suppliers that you can work with, but we will give you a list of our preferred suppliers that we know are easy to work with and that pays great commission.
DO I NEED AN ID CARD TO MAKE BOOKINGS? A travel agent ID card is not what is used for making bookings. If anyone tells you that you need a travel agent ID card to make bookings that is incorrect. You use our Travel Agency ID number (TRUE, IATAN, CLIA, ARC, VTC etc). You will be booking reservations using one of our numbers. ID cards are for travel agent identification for Fam Trips, travel discounts or other travel agent events which must be earned.
DO YOU HAVE SALES REQUIREMENTS? No, we do not have sales requirements. We understand that especially for newer agents it will take a while to start making sales. We do ask that you have 3 bookings in place before booking personal travel.
If you are interested in familiarization trips we offer from 50 to 100 percent scholarships for you to participate in an organized familiarization trip.
HOW CAN I GET A TRUE, IATAN, or CLIA CARD? The Vacation Experience Creators believes in supporting our agents as you flourish in your new career. We will support your application for a travel agent credentials if you obtain the commission requirements set either by the organization (or in the case of TRUE set by The Vacation Experience Creators. The annual sales requirements for obtaining a travel agent ID card are: IATAN: $5,000 in paid commission CLIA: $5,000 in paid commission TRUE: $2,500 in paid commission * Paid commission is defined as commission that is actually paid to agent within the last 12 months.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO I HAVE FOR EDUCATION AND SPECIALIZATIONS? Million Miles Travel Agency is apart of the Travel Leaders Network. With Travel Leaders Network, you will have the opportunity to become certified in Destination Weddings, Groups, Adventure, Leisure, or Luxury Travel. Additionally, the host agency will continually provide continuing education services through familiarization trips, supplier webinars, host webinars, telephone conferences, etc.
CAN I CHARGE A SERVICE FEE? Absolutely. You choose how you want to run YOUR business. You decide if you want to charge your clients a fee or not. To comply with Seller of Travel Laws, service fees must be processed through the host system. Service fees are not subject to commission splits however, Million Miles Travel Agency will charge a fee for the service fee to be processed through our system to cover merchant processing costs.
HOW MANY HOURS DO I HAVE TO WORK? This is YOUR business and you get to choose when you work. You can work full time, part time or somewhere in between. It is only expected that you are checking your email daily and are taking trainings regularly to stay up to date on travel news.
WHEN WILL I BE PAID ON THE BOOKINGS? You are paid after travel is completed by your clients and the payment has been received by us from the supplier.
Rule of Thumb: 7 to 10 days after the clients has RETURNED from travel. Commission is paid by direct deposit every two weeks. It is very important that all bookings are entered in the CRM system for accurate accounting.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARGES BESIDES THE MONTHLY FEE? No. There are no annual fees or any hidden fees with our services. Any fees associated with optional trainings, FAM trips, your business costs, and networking events are the sole responsibility of the agent. Million Miles Travel Agency will on occasion subsidize trainings, FAMs, or certifications upon proposal and sales qualifications by the agent.
HOW DO I GET CUSTOMERS? Let people know you are in business. – Leave your business cards in places, create a FREE Facebook Business page, Instagram Business page, Twitter business page, and Pinterest page. We will give you different marketing tips that you can utilize to make your travel business a success.
WHEN CAN I START TO MAKE BOOKINGS? Right away. As soon as you sign your IC contract and we process your application (which can take 24-48 hours) we will set you up in our system and you can start booking travel.
CAN I GET A WEBSITE? Yes! You are also free to create your own website or can also have a web designer build one for you.
ARE YOU A MLM COMPANY? Absolutely not! We are a full-service host travel agency dedicated to supporting and developing our network of professional travel agents. All of the tools, resources and support are geared toward assisting our agents sell travel only. Our business is travel.
WHAT IF I DECIDE THIS ISN’T RIGHT FOR ME? If you decide you no longer want to partner with us, we ask that you submit your request in writing before you are billed for the following month. You are also free to downgrade or upgrade your hosting plan (limit once per year) to the plan that is right for you. You will be able to keep your clients and your full commissions will be paid on bookings minus any administrative fees.
